Care Assistant

** Based in Wakefield area ** Must not be currently working in another care home due to current Covid restrictions.

We are currently supporting a public sector organisation who urgently need to increase their Care Assistant manpower in their residential homes. Initially a temporary contract your position may become permanent.

All of the workplaces will be on site, no community or home care is required.

Purpose of the Role:

To work within the residential care unit providing support for the users.

It will require rota work to include evenings and weekends.

Assist residents in the home to maintain their independence and assist as and when required.

Be-able to offer personal support to residents that need this – i.e; washing, bathing, dressing etc…

Offer friendly and supportive conversation at this very challenging time.

Liaise and up-date management with residents needs and support.

Good knowledge of health & safety within this environment.

Involved with meetings linked to specific residents to ensure their care is correct at all times.

Desirable:

NVQ 2 in social care – or the willingness to undertake and work towards it.

First Aid knowledge is an advantage.

Possess Safe Moving & Handling Techniques.

Experience of looking after residents with dementia.

Essential:

Experience of working within a care home or residential home.

Experience of caring and supporting older clients.

Be-able to assist moving them safely and correctly.

Must ideally be-able to read and understand basic care plans.

Work as a team and have good communication skills.

School Administrator

We are looking to recruit an Administrator to work in a school based in the Gleadless area of Sheffield, S14.  The role requires someone with the following skills and experience.

*  Knowledge of SIMS – school system.

*  Previous experience working within a school administration office.

*  Organised, strong administration skills.

*  Reporting attendance information, liaising with 3rd party agencies.

*  Producing and distributing school letters.

*  Answering phones and dealing with queries and taking messages.

*  Monitoring attendance, praising and offering certificates for good attendance.

*  Working closely with teaching staff and SLT.

*  May be required to assist with Breakfast Club and Lunchtime cover

Domestic Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Domestic Assistant for our public sector client to commence immediate shifts as required within an Elderly Persons Care Home in the Wakefield area. Due to cross contamination concerns you should not be working within any other workplace.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible to the manager on duty for the general cleanliness of the building, the furnishings and equipment. May be allocated to a particular area of the home (e.g. kitchen or main building), but must be flexible and cover other areas as needed.
  • Responsible for the safe keeping of cleaning materials, bearing in mind the toxic effects of some fluids if taken internally. He/She will requisition and account for stores and equipment from the senior staff on duty as required.
  • It is important to establish good relations with staff and service users and have respect for service users’ privacy (in bedrooms, if applicable) and care of their possessions.
  • General duties include cleaning floors, walls, furniture, carpets, mirrors, ornaments, equipment, cabinets and contents. Indoor windows may be cleaned. Cleaning will be done according to a set schedule and also as necessary. Appropriate records of tasks to be maintained.
  • Duties will also include work in the dining room, laying/waiting at/clearing of tables, transporting of meals to the dining room as required, washing up and simple preparation of food, i.e. Hot drinks, sandwich making, light meals on toast and assisting with the preparation of vegetables.
  • Any other duties that fall within the scope of the post.

Desirable qualifications and knowledge:

Level 1 & 2 NVQ in Cleaning,

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate

Knowledge of First Aid, moving and handling, food hygiene.

A DBS certificate will be needed for this role and will assist your application.
