We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead complex engineering projects within our organisation. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing innovative solutions across various engineering disciplines. Duties

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, deadlines, and budget requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify issues and develop effective corrective actions to optimise project outcomes.
  • Develop detailed system designs using CAD software, including SolidWorks and Schematics, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Utilise modelling tools such as MATLAB and Simulink for system simulation and validation during the design process.
  • Programme and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Apply GD&T principles to ensure precise manufacturing and assembly of components.
  • Create comprehensive technical documentation, including schematics, CAD drawings, and system design reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical knowledge with electrical and software components for seamless system operation.
  • Oversee testing procedures using LabVIEW or similar tools to validate system performance against specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians throughout project lifecycle.

Skills

  • Extensive experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving within engineering contexts.
  • Proficiency in Simulink, MATLAB, CAD (including SolidWorks), Schematics, and LabVIEW for system design and simulation.
  • Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with GD&T standards for manufacturing precision.
  • Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
  • Experience in system design across multiple engineering disciplines, integrating electrical, mechanical, and software components effectively.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams. This role is ideal for a proactive engineer eager to contribute innovative solutions within a collaborative environment while advancing their professional expertise in systems design and project management.

Ideally possess a degree, although not essential, hands on strong transferable experience is most definitely the key.
