Insolvency Administrator
We are working with a well known Insolvency Company, who offer an abundance of business rescue and turnaround. Due to how busy they are, they now need to appoint an additional administrator.
The Insolvency Administrator assists in running formal insolvency processes by gathering financial information, preparing statutory documents, liaising with creditors, and supporting the appointed insolvency practitioner in managing company affairs. They help ensure compliance with the Insolvency Act 1986 and related regulations.
Day to day we are looking for someone who has previous experience of the role, and wants to grow and learn more.
1. Case Administration & Statutory Compliance
- Prepare statutory notices, proposals, progress reports, and filings required under the Insolvency Act.
- Maintain accurate case records, decision logs, and transaction histories for audit and creditor scrutiny.
- Assist with moratorium procedures, ensuring creditor actions are paused during administration.
2. Financial Review & Asset Management
- Gather and review company financial records, management accounts, creditor lists, and asset valuations.
- Support the insolvency practitioner in securing and protecting company assets, including bank accounts, stock, and property.
- Help identify preferential, secured, and unsecured creditors to determine distribution priorities.
3. Creditor & Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate with creditors regarding claims, proposals, distributions, and case progress.
- Assist in negotiating repayment terms during Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs).
- Respond to creditor queries and maintain transparent communication channels.
4. Investigation & Reporting
- Support investigations into director conduct, recent transactions, and potential misconduct.
- Help prepare reports for the Insolvency Service where required.
5. Operational Support
- Coordinate with directors, accountants, solicitors, and other stakeholders during the insolvency process.
- Assist with decisions on whether the business continues trading during administration.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of UK insolvency procedures and statutory requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret financial statements and creditor claims.
- Clear communication skills for dealing with creditors and directors.
- Competence with case management software (e.g., IPS, Turnkey).
- Professional integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information.
The role is Monday – Friday, office hours based in Sheffield. Great opportunity. Do not delay.
